Disney Might Begin Shanghai Park Soon
Disney could start building its planned theme park in Shanghai as early as November, said a report. The park would be the 3rd Disney park outside the U.S., after Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. All construction in Shanghai is halted until the World Expo is over on Halloween. The Shanghai government announced its long-awaited approval for the project in November last year after authorities in Beijing approved Disney’s application. Previous reports have said the U.S. entertainment giant will invest 3.6 billion dollars in the 10-square-kilometer (four-square-mile) park. Disney said it looked forward to being able to announce a final deal and a timeline for opening in the future, when asked about the report.
